[572] For whomever, wherever, the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises, does the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one there?
For those with a nose (saghānaka) taking rebirth without equanimity (upekkhā), the nose faculty arises for them there, but the equanimity faculty does not arise for them there. For those with a nose taking rebirth with equanimity, for them there both the nose faculty arises and the equanimity faculty arises.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty arises, does the nose faculty arise for that one there?
For those taking rebirth with equanimity but without a nose (aghānaka), the equanimity faculty arises for them there, but the nose faculty does not arise for them there. For those taking rebirth with equanimity and with a nose, for them there both the equanimity faculty arises and the nose faculty arises.
