[574] For whomever, wherever, the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises, does the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) arise for that one there?
For those possessing a nose, dissociated from knowledge (ñāṇa), who are being reborn: for them there the nose faculty arises, but for them there the wisdom faculty does not arise. For those possessing a nose, associated with knowledge, who are being reborn: for them there both the nose faculty arises and the wisdom faculty arises.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the wisdom faculty arises, does the nose faculty arise for that one there?
For those associated with knowledge, without a nose, who are being reborn: for them there the wisdom faculty arises, but for them there the nose faculty does not arise. For those associated with knowledge, possessing a nose, who are being reborn: for them there both the wisdom faculty arises and the nose faculty arises.
