[620] For whomever the nose-faculty (ghānindriya) does not arise, does the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) not arise for that one?
For those without a nose (aghānaka), associated with knowledge (ñāṇa), who are being reborn, the nose-faculty does not arise for them, but it is not the case that the wisdom faculty does not arise for them. For all who are passing away, and for those without a nose, dissociated from knowledge, who are being reborn, for them the nose-faculty does not arise and the wisdom faculty does not arise.
Or else, for whomever the wisdom faculty does not arise, does the nose-faculty not arise for that one?
For those dissociated from knowledge, possessing a nose (saghānaka), who are being reborn, the wisdom faculty does not arise for them, but it is not the case that the nose-faculty does not arise for them. For all who are passing away, and for those dissociated from knowledge, without a nose, who are being reborn, for them the wisdom faculty does not arise and the nose-faculty does not arise.
