[1165] For whomever the femininity faculty (itthindriya) does not arise, will the life faculty (jīvitindriya) not arise for him?
For all who are passing away, and for non-females who are being reborn — for them the femininity faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the life faculty will not arise for them. For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and the formless sphere (arūpāvacara) — for them the femininity faculty does not arise and the life faculty will not arise.
Or, for whomever the life faculty will not arise, does the femininity faculty not arise for him?
For females in their final existence who are being reborn — for them the life faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the femininity faculty does not arise for them. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, and for those in their final existence in the form sphere and the formless sphere — for them the life faculty will not arise and the femininity faculty does not arise.
