Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1204

[1204] For whomever, wherever, the femininity faculty (itthindriya) does not arise — for that one, there, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise? For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for beings who are not female being reborn into the sense sphere, and for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara) — for them, there, the femininity faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the equanimity faculty will not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) in the sense sphere, for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the form sphere and the formless sphere, for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), and for those who, having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — for these as they pass away — for them, there, the femininity faculty does not arise, and the equanimity faculty will not arise. Or: for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty will not arise — for that one, there, does the femininity faculty not arise? For females in their final existence who are being reborn, and for those females who, having been reborn with joy, will attain final Nibbāna — for these as they are being reborn — for them, there, the equanimity faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the femininity faculty does not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, for those in their final existence in the form sphere and the formless sphere, for non-percipient beings, and for those who, having been reborn with joy, will attain final Nibbāna — for these as they pass away — for them, there, the equanimity faculty will not arise, and the femininity faculty does not arise.
