[1168] For whomever the femininity faculty (itthindriya) does not arise, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) … the wisdom faculty (paññindriya), the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for him?
For all who are passing away and for non-female beings who are being reborn, the femininity faculty does not arise for them; but it is not the case that the mind faculty will not arise for them. For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the fine-material sphere (rūpāvacara) and the immaterial sphere (arūpāvacara), the femininity faculty does not arise for them and the mind faculty will not arise.
Or, for whomever the mind faculty will not arise, does the femininity faculty not arise for him?
For women in their final existence who are being reborn, the mind faculty will not arise for them; but it is not the case that the femininity faculty does not arise for them. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, and for those in their final existence in the fine-material sphere and the immaterial sphere, the mind faculty will not arise for them and the femininity faculty does not arise.
