[1201] For whomever and wherever the femininity faculty (itthindriya) does not arise, will the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) not arise for that one there?
For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara) and for non-females (na-itthī) being reborn into the sense sphere — for them there the femininity faculty does not arise, yet it is not the case that the masculinity faculty will not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) in the sense sphere, for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), and for those women who, having manifested some number of existences in that same [female] state, will attain final Nibbāna, as they pass away — for them there the femininity faculty does not arise and the masculinity faculty will not arise.
Or else, for whomever and wherever the masculinity faculty will not arise, does the femininity faculty not arise for that one there?
For women in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn, and for those women who, having manifested some number of existences in that same [female] state, will attain final Nibbāna, as they are being reborn — for them there the masculinity faculty will not arise, yet it is not the case that the femininity faculty does not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, for beings of the form sphere and of the formless sphere, and for those women who, having manifested some number of existences in that same [female] state, will attain final Nibbāna, as they pass away — for them there the masculinity faculty will not arise and the femininity faculty does not arise.
