[1222] For whomever, wherever, the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) does not arise, will the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one there?
For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), and at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind dissociated from knowledge (ñāṇavippayutta-citta): for them there the wisdom faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the mind faculty will not arise. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā): for them there the wisdom faculty does not arise and the mind faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty will not arise, does the wisdom faculty not arise for that one there?
At the moment of the arising of the final mind: for them there the mind faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the wisdom faculty does not arise. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind, and for non-percipient beings: for them there the mind faculty will not arise and the wisdom faculty does not arise.
