[1183] For whom the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) does not arise, will the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for him?
For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution of mind (citta) and at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from knowledge (ñāṇa), for those attained to cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them the wisdom faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that for them the mind faculty will not arise. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), for them the wisdom faculty does not arise and the mind faculty will not arise.
Or, for whom the mind faculty will not arise, does the wisdom faculty not arise for him?
At the moment of the arising of the final mind, for them the mind faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that for them the wisdom faculty does not arise. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind, for them the mind faculty will not arise and the wisdom faculty does not arise.
