[1220] For whom, wherever, the faith faculty (saddhindriya) does not arise, will the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) not arise for that one there?
For all (beings) at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), and at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind dissociated (vippayutta) from faith, for them there the faith faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the wisdom faculty will not arise. At the moment of dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), for them there both the faith faculty does not arise and the wisdom faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whom, wherever, the wisdom faculty will not arise, does the faith faculty not arise for that one there?
At the moment of arising of the final mind, for them there the wisdom faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the faith faculty does not arise. At the moment of dissolution of the final mind, and for non-percipient beings, for them there both the wisdom faculty will not arise and the faith faculty does not arise.
