Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1181

[1181] For whomever the faith faculty (saddhindriya) does not arise, will the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) not arise for that one? For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution of mind (citta), at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from faith, for those attained to cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) — for them the faith faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the wisdom faculty will not arise for them. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), for them the faith faculty does not arise and the wisdom faculty will not arise. Or rather, for whomever the wisdom faculty will not arise, does the faith faculty not arise for that one? At the moment of the arising of the final mind, for them the wisdom faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the faith faculty does not arise for them. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind, for them the wisdom faculty will not arise and the faith faculty does not arise.
