[1182] For one for whom the faith faculty (saddhindriya) does not arise, will the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise?
For all beings at the moment of the dissolution of mind (citta), at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from faith (saddhāvippayutta), for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpannā), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for these the faith faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the mind faculty will not arise for them. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), for them the faith faculty does not arise and the mind faculty will not arise.
Or, for one for whom the mind faculty will not arise, does the faith faculty not arise?
At the moment of the arising of the final mind, for them the mind faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the faith faculty does not arise for them. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind, for them the mind faculty will not arise and the faith faculty does not arise.
