[1219] For whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) does not arise, will the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) … the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one there?
For all beings at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), and at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind dissociated from equanimity: for them there the equanimity faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the mind faculty will not arise. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta) associated with equanimity, for those possessed of the final mind associated with joy (somanassa), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them there the equanimity faculty does not arise and the mind faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty will not arise, does the equanimity faculty not arise for that one there?
At the moment of the arising of the final mind associated with equanimity: for them there the mind faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the equanimity faculty does not arise.
