[1145] For whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arises, will the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) … the mind faculty (manindriya) arise for that one there?
At the moment of arising of the final mind (pacchimacitta) associated with equanimity, for them there the equanimity faculty arises, but for them there the mind faculty will not arise. For the others—for those being reborn with equanimity, and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising of a mind (citta) associated with equanimity—for them there both the equanimity faculty arises and the mind faculty will arise.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty will arise, does the equanimity faculty arise for that one there?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution of mind, and at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from equanimity, for them there the mind faculty will arise, but for them there the equanimity faculty does not arise. For those being reborn with equanimity, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of a mind associated with equanimity, for them there both the mind faculty will arise and the equanimity faculty arises.
