[1144] For whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arises, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arise for that one there?
At the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the final mind associated with equanimity (upekkhāsampayutta-pacchimacitta), for them there the equanimity faculty arises, but the faith faculty will not arise for them there. For the others — when they are being reborn with equanimity (upekkhā), and in the course of existence (pavatta) at the moment of arising of a mind (citta) associated with equanimity — for them there the equanimity faculty arises and the faith faculty will arise.
Or: for whomever, wherever, the faith faculty will arise, does the equanimity faculty arise for that one there?
For all, at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of a mind and at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from equanimity (upekkhāvippayutta), for them there the faith faculty will arise, but the equanimity faculty does not arise for them there. For those being reborn with equanimity, and in the course of existence at the moment of arising of a mind associated with equanimity, for them there the faith faculty will arise and the equanimity faculty arises.
