[1146] For whomever, wherever, the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arises, will the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) arise for that one there?
At the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the final mind (pacchimacitta), for them there the faith faculty arises, but the wisdom faculty will not arise for them there. For the others — those with root-cause (sahetuka) who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of arising of a mind associated with faith (saddhāsampayuttacitta) — for them there both the faith faculty arises and the wisdom faculty will arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the wisdom faculty will arise, does the faith faculty arise for that one there?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind (citta), and at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from faith (saddhāvippayuttacitta), for them there the wisdom faculty will arise, but the faith faculty does not arise for them there. For those with root-cause who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of a mind associated with faith, for them there both the wisdom faculty will arise and the faith faculty arises.
