[1147] For whomever, wherever, the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arises, will the mind faculty (manindriya) arise for that one there?
At the moment of arising of the final mind (pacchima-citta), for those [beings] there the faith faculty arises, but for them there the mind faculty will not arise. For the others — for those with root-cause (sahetuka) as they are being reborn, and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising of a mind associated with faith — for them there both the faith faculty arises and the mind faculty will arise.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty will arise, does the faith faculty arise for that one there?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution of mind, and at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from faith, for them there the mind faculty will arise, but for them there the faith faculty does not arise. For those with root-cause as they are being reborn, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of a mind associated with faith, for them there both the mind faculty will arise and the faith faculty arises.
