[1068] For whomever, wherever, the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arises, has the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) arisen for that one there?
For those being reborn into the pure abodes (Suddhāvāsa), the faith faculty arises for them there, but the wisdom faculty has not arisen for them there. For the other [beings] with root-cause (sahetuka) who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind (citta) associated with faith, for them there both the faith faculty arises and the wisdom faculty has arisen.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the wisdom faculty has arisen, does the faith faculty arise for that one there?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind, and at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from faith, the wisdom faculty has arisen for them there, but the faith faculty does not arise for them there. For those with root-cause who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of a mind associated with faith, for them there both the wisdom faculty has arisen and the faith faculty arises.
