[1067] For whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arises, did the mind faculty (manindriya) arise for that one there?
For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), the equanimity faculty arises for them there, but the mind faculty did not arise for them there. For the others being reborn with equanimity, and at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind (citta) associated with equanimity in the course of existence (pavatti), for them there the equanimity faculty arises and the mind faculty arose.
Or: for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty arose, does the equanimity faculty arise for that one there?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind, and at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from equanimity, the mind faculty arose for them there, but the equanimity faculty does not arise for them there. For those being reborn with equanimity, and at the moment of arising of a mind associated with equanimity in the course of existence, for them there the mind faculty arose and the equanimity faculty arises.
