[1066] For whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arises, has the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) arisen for that one there?
For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), for them there the equanimity faculty arises, but for them there the wisdom faculty has not arisen. For the others being reborn with equanimity, and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind (citta) associated with equanimity, for them there both the equanimity faculty arises and the wisdom faculty has arisen.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the wisdom faculty has arisen, does the equanimity faculty arise for that one there?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of a mind, and at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from equanimity, for them there the wisdom faculty has arisen, but for them there the equanimity faculty does not arise. For those being reborn with equanimity, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of a mind associated with equanimity, for them there both the wisdom faculty has arisen and the equanimity faculty arises.
