[1031] "For whomever the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arises, has the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arisen for that one?"
"Yes."
"Or rather, for whomever the faith faculty has arisen, does the equanimity faculty arise for that one?"
"For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution of mind (citta), at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from equanimity, for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpannā), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for these the faith faculty has arisen, but the equanimity faculty does not arise for them. For those being reborn with equanimity, [and,] in the course of existence (pavatte), at the moment of the arising of a mind associated with equanimity — for these both the faith faculty has arisen and the equanimity faculty arises."
