Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1030

[1030] For whomever the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arises, did the faith faculty (saddhindriya) … the wisdom faculty (paññindriya), the mind faculty (manindriya) arise for that one? Yes. Or rather, for whomever the mind faculty arose, does the joy faculty arise for that one? For all (beings) at the moment of the dissolution of mind (citta), at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from joy, for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) — for these the mind faculty arose, but the joy faculty does not arise for them. For those being reborn with joy, and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of the arising of a mind associated with joy — for these both the mind faculty arose and the joy faculty arises.
