[1107] For whomever the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arises, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) … the wisdom faculty (paññindriya), the mind faculty (manindriya) arise for that one?
At the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the final mind (pacchimacitta) associated with joy, the joy faculty arises for those [beings], but the mind faculty will not arise for them. For the others — for those being reborn with joy [and], in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising of a mind (citta) associated with joy — the joy faculty arises for them, and the mind faculty will arise.
Or, for whomever the mind faculty will arise, does the joy faculty arise for that one?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind, at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from joy, for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), the mind faculty will arise for them, but the joy faculty does not arise for them. For those being reborn with joy [and], in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of a mind associated with joy, the mind faculty will arise for them, and the joy faculty arises.
