[1064] For whomever, wherever, the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arises, did the faith faculty (saddhindriya) … the wisdom faculty (paññindriya), the mind faculty (manindriya) arise for that one there? — Yes.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty arose, does the joy faculty arise for that one there? — For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind (citta), [and] at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind dissociated from joy, the mind faculty arose for them there, but the joy faculty does not arise for them there. For those being reborn with joy, [and], in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of the arising of a mind associated with joy, both the mind faculty arose for them there and the joy faculty arises.
