[1065] For whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arises, has the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arisen for that one there?
For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), the equanimity faculty arises for them there, but the faith faculty has not arisen for them there. For the others being reborn with equanimity (upekkhā), and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind (citta) associated with equanimity, for them there, both the equanimity faculty arises and the faith faculty has arisen.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the faith faculty has arisen, does the equanimity faculty arise for that one there?
For all, at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind, and at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from equanimity, the faith faculty has arisen for them there, but the equanimity faculty does not arise for them there. For those being reborn with equanimity, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the arising of a mind associated with equanimity, for them there, both the faith faculty has arisen and the equanimity faculty arises.
