[1063] For whomever, wherever, the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arises, did the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one there?
Yes.
Or, conversely, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty arose, does the joy faculty arise for that one there?
For all at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind (citta), and at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind dissociated from joy, the equanimity faculty arose for them there, but the joy faculty does not arise for them there. For those being reborn with joy, and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising of a mind associated with joy, for them, there, both the equanimity faculty arose and the joy faculty arises.
