Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1032

[1032] For whomever the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arises, had the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) … the mind faculty (manindriya) arisen for him? Yes. Or, for whomever the mind faculty had arisen, does the equanimity faculty arise for him? For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution of mind (citta), and at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from equanimity (upekkhāvippayutta), for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpannā), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for them the mind faculty had arisen, but the equanimity faculty does not arise for them. For those being reborn with equanimity and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of the arising of a mind associated with equanimity (upekkhāsampayutta) — for them the mind faculty both had arisen and the equanimity faculty arises.
