[1069] For whomever, wherever, the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arises, has the mind faculty (manindriya) arisen for that one there?
For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), the faith faculty arises for them there, but the mind faculty has not arisen for them there. For the others with roots (sahetuka) who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind (citta) associated with faith, for them there both the faith faculty arises and the mind faculty has arisen.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty has arisen, does the faith faculty arise for that one there?
For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind, and at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from faith, the mind faculty has arisen for them there, but the faith faculty does not arise for them there. For those with roots who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the arising of a mind associated with faith, for them there both the mind faculty has arisen and the faith faculty arises.
