[718] For whomever, wherever, the faith faculty (saddhindriya) does not arise, does the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one there?
For rootless (ahetuka) beings possessing mind (sacittaka) who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind (citta) dissociated (vippayutta) from faith (saddhā): for them, there, the faith faculty does not arise, yet it is not the case that the mind faculty does not arise for them there. For all beings at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind, and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā): for them, there, both the faith faculty does not arise and the mind faculty does not arise.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty does not arise, does the faith faculty not arise for that one there?
