[591] For whomever, wherever, the life faculty (jīvitindriya) arises, does the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arise for that one there?
For the rootless (ahetuka) who are taking rebirth, and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind (citta) dissociated from faith, for them, there, the life faculty arises, but the faith faculty does not arise for them there. For those with roots (sahetuka) who are taking rebirth, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of a mind associated with faith, for them, there, both the life faculty arises and the faith faculty arises.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the faith faculty arises, does the life faculty arise for that one there?
Yes (āmantā).
