Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1263

[1263] For whomever and wherever the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) has arisen, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one there? For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), and for those possessing the eye who, having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — for them there the eye faculty has arisen, but for them there the equanimity faculty will not arise. For the others of the five-constituent existence — for them there both the eye faculty has arisen and the equanimity faculty will arise. Or: for whomever and wherever the equanimity faculty will arise, has the eye faculty arisen for that one there? For the formless (arūpa) beings — for them there the equanimity faculty will arise, but for them there the eye faculty has not arisen. For those of the five-constituent existence — for them there both the equanimity faculty will arise and the eye faculty has arisen.
