[901] For whomever, wherever, the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) will arise, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one there?
Those who, possessing the eye, having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — the eye faculty will arise for them there, but the equanimity faculty will not arise for them there. For the others, those of the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), both the eye faculty will arise and the equanimity faculty will arise for them there.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty will arise, will the eye faculty arise for that one there?
For the formless beings (arūpa), the equanimity faculty will arise for them there, but the eye faculty will not arise for them there. For those of the five-constituent existence, both the equanimity faculty will arise and the eye faculty will arise for them there.
