Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1290

[1290] For whomever, wherever, the joy faculty (somanassindriya) has arisen, will the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) … the mind faculty (manindriya) arise for that one there? For those endowed with the final mind (pacchimacitta-samaṅgī), the joy faculty has arisen for them there, but the mind faculty will not arise for them there. For the others — those with four aggregates (catuvokāra) and those with five aggregates (pañcavokāra) — the joy faculty has arisen for them there and the mind faculty will arise. Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty will arise, has the joy faculty arisen for that one there? For those of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), while the second mind (citta) is occurring, the mind faculty will arise for them there, but the joy faculty has not arisen for them there. For the others — those with four aggregates and those with five aggregates — the mind faculty will arise for them there and the joy faculty has arisen.
