[1329] For whomever, wherever, the joy faculty (somanassindriya) did not arise, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) … the wisdom faculty (paññindriya), the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one there?
For beings of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), while the second mind (citta) is occurring, the joy faculty did not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the mind faculty will not arise for them there. As for the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), for them there the joy faculty did not arise and the mind faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty will not arise, did the joy faculty not arise for that one there?
For those possessed of the final mind (pacchimacittasamaṅgī), the mind faculty will not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the joy faculty did not arise for them there. As for the non-percipient beings, for them there the mind faculty will not arise and the joy faculty did not arise.
