[1425] Whoever does not fully understand the eye faculty (cakkhundriya), will that one not abandon the grief faculty (domanassindriya)?
Five persons (puggalā) do not fully understand the eye faculty, but it is not the case that they will not abandon the grief faculty. Four persons both do not fully understand the eye faculty and will not abandon the grief faculty.
Or rather, whoever will not abandon the grief faculty, does that one not fully understand the eye faculty?
The one possessed of the highest path (aggamagga) will not abandon the grief faculty, but it is not the case that he does not fully understand the eye faculty. Four persons both will not abandon the grief faculty and do not fully understand the eye faculty.
