[1427] "Whoever does not fully understand (parijānāti) the eye faculty (cakkhundriya), will that one not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty (aññindriya)?"
Seven persons (puggala) do not fully understand the eye faculty, yet it is not the case that they will not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty. Two persons do not fully understand the eye faculty and will not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty.
"Or rather, whoever will not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty, does that one not fully understand the eye faculty?"
The one endowed with the highest path (aggamaggasamaṅgī) will not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty, yet it is not the case that he does not fully understand the eye faculty. Two persons will not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty and do not fully understand the eye faculty.
