[293] For whomever unwholesome phenomena (akusalā dhammā) do not arise, do indeterminate phenomena (abyākatā dhammā) not cease for that one?
For all who are passing away, and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), unwholesome phenomena do not arise for them, yet it is not the case that indeterminate phenomena do not cease for them. For all who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind dissociated from the unwholesome (akusalavippayutta-citta), and, in the immaterial [plane] (arūpa), at the moment of the dissolution of the wholesome (kusala) and the unwholesome, unwholesome phenomena do not arise for them and indeterminate phenomena do not cease.
Or rather, for whomever indeterminate phenomena do not cease, do unwholesome phenomena not arise for that one?
At the moment of the arising of the unwholesome, indeterminate phenomena do not cease for them, yet it is not the case that unwholesome phenomena do not arise for them. For all who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the arising of a mind dissociated from the unwholesome, and, in the immaterial [plane], at the moment of the dissolution of the wholesome and the unwholesome, indeterminate phenomena do not cease for them and unwholesome phenomena do not arise.
