[388] Is the eye (cakkhu) the eye faculty (cakkhundriya)? The divine eye (dibbacakkhu) and the eye of wisdom (paññācakkhu) are eye but not the eye faculty; the eye faculty is both eye and eye faculty. Is the eye faculty the eye? Yes. Is the ear (sota) the ear faculty (sotindriya)? The divine ear (dibbasota) and the stream of craving (taṇhāsota) are sota but not the ear faculty; the ear faculty is both sota and ear faculty. Is the ear faculty the ear? Yes. Is the nose (ghāna) the nose faculty (ghānindriya)? Yes. Is the nose faculty the nose? Yes. Is the tongue (jivhā) the tongue faculty (jivhindriya)? Yes. Is the tongue faculty the tongue? Yes. Is the body (kāya) the body faculty (kāyindriya)? Setting aside the body faculty, the rest is body but not the body faculty; the body faculty is both body and body faculty. Is the body faculty the body? Yes. Is the mind (mano) the mind faculty (manindriya)? Yes. Is the mind faculty the mind? Yes.
