[467] Is what is not the ear (sota) not a faculty (indriya)? Setting aside the ear, the remaining faculties are not the ear but are faculties; setting aside the ear and the faculties, the rest are neither the ear nor faculties. Is what is not a faculty not the eye faculty (cakkhundriya)? Yes. … Is what is not the ear not a faculty? Setting aside the ear, the remaining faculties are not the ear but are faculties; setting aside the ear and the faculties, the rest are neither the ear nor faculties.
