Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 585

[585] For whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arises, does the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one there? For males (purisa) being reborn without equanimity, the masculinity faculty arises for them there, but the equanimity faculty does not arise for them there. For males being reborn with equanimity, for them there both the masculinity faculty arises and the equanimity faculty arises. Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty arises, does the masculinity faculty arise for that one there? For non-males being reborn with equanimity, the equanimity faculty arises for them there, but the masculinity faculty does not arise for them there. For males being reborn with equanimity, for them there both the equanimity faculty arises and the masculinity faculty arises.
