[515] For whomever the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arises, does the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one? For males (purisa) who are being reborn without equanimity (upekkhā), the masculinity faculty arises for them, but the equanimity faculty does not arise for them; for males who are being reborn with equanimity, for them both the masculinity faculty arises and the equanimity faculty arises. Or, for whomever the equanimity faculty arises, does the masculinity faculty arise for that one? For non-males who are being reborn with equanimity, the equanimity faculty arises for them, but the masculinity faculty does not arise for them; for males who are being reborn with equanimity, for them both the equanimity faculty arises and the masculinity faculty arises.
