[631] For whom the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) does not arise, does the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for that one?
For those who are not male, being reborn with equanimity (upekkhā), the masculinity faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the equanimity faculty does not arise for them. For all who are passing away, and for those who are not male, being reborn without equanimity, the masculinity faculty does not arise and the equanimity faculty does not arise.
Or, for whom the equanimity faculty does not arise, does the masculinity faculty not arise for that one?
For males, being reborn without equanimity, the equanimity faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the masculinity faculty does not arise for them. For all who are passing away, and for those who are not male, being reborn without equanimity, the equanimity faculty does not arise and the masculinity faculty does not arise.
