Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 516

[516] For whomever the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arises, does the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arise for that one? When males without roots (ahetuka) are being reborn, the masculinity faculty arises for them, but the faith faculty does not arise for them. When males with roots (sahetuka) are being reborn, for them both the masculinity faculty arises and the faith faculty arises. Or rather, for whomever the faith faculty arises, does the masculinity faculty arise for that one? When those with roots who are non-males are being reborn, the faith faculty arises for them, but the masculinity faculty does not arise for them. When those with roots who are males are being reborn, for them both the faith faculty arises and the masculinity faculty arises.
