[818] For whomever, in whatever place, the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) did not arise, did the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for that one in that place?
For the formless beings (arūpā), the eye faculty did not arise for them in that place, but it is not the case that the equanimity faculty did not arise for them in that place. For beings of the Pure Abodes (suddhāvāsa) and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), both the eye faculty did not arise for them in that place and the equanimity faculty did not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, in whatever place, the equanimity faculty did not arise, did the eye faculty not arise for that one in that place?
Yes (āmantā).
