[1307] For whomever in whatever plane the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) did not arise, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for that one in that plane?
For beings of the formless [planes] (arūpa): for them in that plane the eye faculty did not arise, but it is not the case that for them in that plane the equanimity faculty will not arise. For beings of the pure abodes (Suddhāvāsa), for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the formless [planes], and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them in that plane the eye faculty did not arise and the equanimity faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever in whatever plane the equanimity faculty will not arise, did the eye faculty not arise for that one in that plane?
For those in their final existence in the five-constituent [plane] (pañcavokāra), and for those possessed of eyes (sacakkhuka) who, having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna: for them in that plane the equanimity faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that for them in that plane the eye faculty did not arise. For beings of the pure abodes, for those in their final existence in the formless [planes], and for non-percipient beings: for them in that plane the equanimity faculty will not arise and the eye faculty did not arise.
