Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1308

[1308] For whomever, wherever, the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) has not arisen — will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) not arise for that one there? For formless beings (arūpa): the eye faculty has not arisen for them there, but it is not the case that the faith faculty will not arise for them there. For beings of the Pure Abodes (suddhāvāsa), for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the formless plane, and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): both the eye faculty has not arisen and the faith faculty will not arise for them there. Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the faith faculty will not arise — has the eye faculty not arisen for that one there? For those in their final existence in the five-constituent plane (pañcavokāra): the faith faculty will not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the eye faculty has not arisen for them there. For beings of the Pure Abodes, for those in their final existence in the formless plane, and for non-percipient beings: both the faith faculty will not arise and the eye faculty has not arisen for them there.
