For those in the Pure Abodes (suddhāvāsa) while the second mind (citta) is occurring, and for the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), the joy faculty has never arisen for them there, but it is not the case that the life faculty has never arisen for them there. For those in the Pure Abodes at the moment of the arising of the rebirth mind (upapatticitta), both the joy faculty has never arisen for them there and the life faculty has never arisen.
