[853] For whomever the femininity faculty (itthindriya) will arise, will the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arise for that one?
Those women who, having manifested some number of existences in that same state, will be reborn with equanimity (upekkhā) and attain final Nibbāna: for them the femininity faculty will arise, but the joy faculty will not arise for them. For the others, both the femininity faculty will arise and the joy faculty will arise.
Or, for whomever the joy faculty will arise, will the femininity faculty arise for that one?
Those who will be reborn in the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and attain final Nibbāna, and those men who, having manifested some number of existences in that same state, will be reborn with joy (somanassa) and attain final Nibbāna: for them the joy faculty will arise, but the femininity faculty will not arise for them. For the others, both the joy faculty will arise and the femininity faculty will arise.
