Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 854

[854] For whomever the femininity faculty (itthindriya) will arise, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one? Those women who, having manifested some number of existences in that very state and having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — for them the femininity faculty will arise, but the equanimity faculty will not arise for them. For the others, both the femininity faculty will arise and the equanimity faculty will arise. Or, for whomever the equanimity faculty will arise, will the femininity faculty arise for that one? Those who, having been reborn in the form sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna, and those men who, having manifested some number of existences in that very state and having been reborn with equanimity, will attain final Nibbāna — for them the equanimity faculty will arise, but the femininity faculty will not arise for them. For the others, both the equanimity faculty will arise and the femininity faculty will arise.
