[856] For whomever the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) will arise, will the life faculty (jīvitindriya) arise for him?
Yes.
Or rather, for whomever the life faculty will arise, will the masculinity faculty arise for him?
Those who, having been reborn in the fine-material sphere (rūpāvacara) or the immaterial sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna (parinibbāna), and those women who, having manifested some number of existences (bhava) in that very same state (bhāva), will attain final Nibbāna — for them the life faculty will arise, but the masculinity faculty will not arise for them. For the others, both the life faculty will arise and the masculinity faculty will arise.
